Moe Miller, M.S.
Moe is an incoming doctoral student in Criminal Justice and Criminology.
Her research focuses on the issues surrounding social inequality and (in)justice for Black/African American youth in school, community, and justice systems and includes a critical look at racism, trauma, violence, and the effects on mental health and criminal behavior.

George Garza, M.S.
George is a third year doctoral student, research assistant, and instructor in the Criminal Justice and Criminology department at Texas State University. He holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Criminal Justice from TXST.
His research interests include law enforcement and public perceptions of the police (e.g. procedural justice) and investigative interviews.

Gilbert F. O'Brien Jr, M.S.
Gilbert (Gil) is a doctoral student and instructor at Texas State University. He served for 5 years as a local police officer. He then served for 20 years as a Connecticut State Trooper (7 years in uniform and 13 years as a detective), retiring and subsequently working for approximately 2 years as a Criminal Investigator at the Bexar County District Attorney's Office in San Antonio, Texas.

Robee Ruiz, M.S.
Robee is a second-year doctoral student and instructor at Texas State University. She earned her B.A. and M.S. in Criminal Justice and Criminology from UTSA, graduating magna cum laude. Robee has experience as both a juvenile detention officer and adult correctional officer.
Her research interests include corrections, gangs, and organized crime.

Gwen Kovaleski, M.S.
Gwen is a doctoral student at Texas State University. She holds a B.S. in Sociology from Suffolk University, an M.S. in National Security from the University of New Haven, and an M.S. in Information Technology (Cybersecurity) from Capella University.
Her research interests include religion in corrections, sex crimes, mental health, and serial offenders.

Her research interests include gender, incarceration, feminist theory, general strain theory, and immigration.

Eileen is currently pursuing a bachelors in sociology at Arizona State University. She is interested in learning more about social change, social equity and diversity. She plans to pursue graduate education to study how diverse groups of people function together in institutions, and the obstacles they face.
